Matthew Crosby serves as conductor of One Voice and Women's Chorus. Choirs under his direction have toured to exciting destinations such as Spain, Japan, Hawaii, Portugal, Germany, and Austria. In addition to his collegiate teaching, Dr. Crosby served as a music and worship teacher at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary in Ogbomosho, Nigeria. A graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, he earned his Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College where he studied under Joseph Flummerfelt and was a member of the Westminster Choir. He recently completed his DMA in Choral Conducting at the University of Arizona where he studied under Dr. Bruce Chamberlain. His doctoral lecture-recital document explores Schubert's use of harmony to express poetic texts. Dr. Crosby has sung under the baton of many distinguished conductors including Ricardo Muti, Charles Dutoit, Riccardo Chailly, and Sir Neville Mariner, and has performed in concerts with the New York Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, among others. A gifted pianist, Dr. Crosby enjoys composing and collaborating on recitals.
