Association of Texas Professional Educators

The Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) is the top public professional educator association in Texas and is both member-owned and member-governed - which is demonstrated through the House of Delegates joining in the voting process. ATPE is not limited to just teachers but is open to all people interested in protecting public education and students' learning. As a professional association, ATPE provides protection through insurance for teaching, advocacy in both state and federal capacities, resources for educators, professional development through seminars, and many leadership opportunities.
As a university local unit, it is our goal to inform our education students through their learning experience, and prior to their student teaching, about goals that can increase their resume and professional preparedness. We are Region 12 and your Local ATPE Chapter at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
