Explore Cru Nursing Summer Camp

The Scott & White School of Nursing is excited to offer its annual Nursing Summer Camp for upper-level high school students interested in exploring a future in nursing and healthcare. This immersive experience provides participants with the opportunity to experience nursing school and college life at UMHB while learning from nursing faculty, current students, and healthcare professionals.

The program focuses on four key areas:

• Academics – Explore nursing concepts, skills, and simulation experiences.
• Spirit and Traditions of UMHB – Experience what makes UMHB a unique Christ-centered university.
• Faith and Learning – Discover how faith is integrated into nursing practice and healthcare.
• Campus Life – Get a firsthand look at student life, residence halls, and campus activities.

Camp dates are currently being finalized and will be announced soon. Applications will open once dates are confirmed. Please watch for additional information regarding dates, application requirements, and registration details. Space will be limited.

Explore is designed for highly motivated junior and senior high school students. To be considered for the program, participants will submit an application which includes an essay (description of their experiences/background and why they are interested in the program), and transcripts.

Explore will provide engaging opportunities which introduce core concepts of nursing through classroom and simulation lab settings. Learning continues outside the classroom and lab, through small group discussions and projects, as well as experiences of college life at UMHB. Participants will stay in residence halls, eat in the dining hall, and engage in fun social activities.
