Pre-Health Professions

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor offers pre-health programs for students who want to pursue a career in a medically oriented field. Medical schools and other institutions that offer graduate-level training in the health professions look for applicants who have a strong foundation in the natural sciences, movement sciences, a background in the social sciences and humanities, communication and leadership skills, and a commitment to ethics and services.

Students wishing to apply to graduate programs in the health professions may major in any field of study, as long as they complete the foundational courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and other courses that the professional schools require. The advisors in the pre-health professions at UMHB are committed to keeping students on track for meeting both the requirements of their chosen major and the requirements for admission to a professional school after graduation from UMHB.
