Some expectations and responsibilities of a CRU Leader include:
- Serve as a role model exhibiting enthusiasm, motivation, and involvement
- Help students adjust to UMHB personally and academically by becoming familiar with UMHB resources in order to connect students appropriately
- Attend and participate in all training sessions in the spring and the week before Welcome Week. CLs will be required to come back to school before Welcome Week.
- CLs cannot serve as RAs.
- Co-lead a Welcome Week group in all Welcome Week activities.
- Assist faculty in First Year Seminar (FYS) course to engage students.
- Attend all FYS class sessions
- Conduct 1-on-1 meetings with all students enrolled in your assigned FYS course or all in your Welcome Week group (for transfers).
- Report every 2 weeks on student engagement
- Coordinate one social activity during the fall semester for your FYS.
- Share your UMHB experience with your students to help them understand the importance of academics and college life.
- Exercise good judgment in representing the university and upholding institutional standards.
