Biology for Pre-Health Professions

Many biology majors are interested in pursuing a career in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or other healthcare related fields. The Department of Biology has a suggested schedule of courses you should take to be ready for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and to fulfill the requirements of the medical schools in Texas. The department also stays up-to-date on the recommended courses to prepare for the DAT (dental), PCAT (pharmacy), and OAT (optometry) admission exams, as well as for admission to veterinary school.
