Major in Social Studies with 7-12 Teaching Certification

Social Studies with 7-12 Teacher Certification is a pathway that prepares middle school and high school educators to teach a variety of courses in the field of social studies. While some teachers may prefer to specialize in teaching history only, others may want the ability to teach geography, government, economics, and social studies “foundations” as well as World, U.S., and Texas history. Students in this degree pathway take a mixture of courses across these various fields, along with teaching methods, classroom management, curriculum design, and an internship with a public school teacher.
