Curriculum Vitae (Résumé)
Dr. Williamson is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from UMHB as a member of the program’s second cohort and later completed a PhD in Physiology, further strengthening her foundation in human movement and function.
Dr. Williamson joined UMHB as an adjunct faculty member in Fall 2019 and transitioned to a full-time faculty role in Spring 2023. Prior to her work in physical therapy, she spent 14 years teaching undergraduate anatomy and physiology courses, bringing extensive experience in foundational sciences to her current teaching.
Clinically, Dr. Williamson has practiced in a private outpatient setting, treating a diverse patient population across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics, and a range of conditions, including orthopedic, pelvic floor, and neurological issues. She holds advanced training and certifications in dry needling, myofascial release, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, spinal manipulation, LSVT BIG, and pelvic floor health.
In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr. Williamson is an author of multiple undergraduate textbooks and serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. She is an active member of various professional organizations, including the American Physical Therapy Association (Orthopedic and Sports sections), the Texas Physical Therapy Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society, and the Textbook Authors Association.
