Dr. Stephen Baldridge was appointed Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences in June, 2020. Dr. Baldridge holds both a PhD and master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington; he earned his bachelor's in social work from Lubbock Christian University. Prior to coming to UMHB he was on faculty at Abilene Christian University since 2009. He served as director of the undergraduate social work program since 2011 and Assistant Dean of the College of Education and Human Services from 2018-2020.
Dr. Baldridge's research and practice interests are in homelessness, environmental justice, higher education, community development, and teaching pedagogy. He is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas and a current member of the Council on Social Work Education and the North American Association of Christians in Social Work.
Dr. Baldridge and his wife, Hollie, have two sons (Hobson and Penn), and twin daughters (Izzie and Andie).
