The Sader Scholars program is a competitive, week-long residential experience designed for high-achieving students before or after their senior year of high school, eager to explore the academic and student life at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. FromJuly 10-17, 2026, students will become immersed in college-level coursework, engage in campus activities, and enjoy the vibrant community of UMHB in Central Texas.

COURSEWORK

Students will complete a 3-hour class taught by UMHB's world-class faculty, earning 3 transferable college credits. These classes are designed to incorporate hands-on, experiential learning both in and out of the classroom.

Launch into Science: The Science of Happiness

This course explores the science and biology behind happiness, examining how our brains and bodies influence our emotional well-being. Students will engage in practical lessons learning how cutting-edge research can be applied to their own lives. Additionally, the course looks into various medical professions, highlighting how an understanding of happiness science can enhance mental health, and contribute to success in college and beyond.

This course is designed to equip students with practical skills and a deep understanding of what it means to lead with faith and purpose in today's world.

LaunchPad: Business Foundations for Innovators

This dynamic course lays the groundwork for understanding business as a powerful way to create value and make a difference in the world. Students will examine how to identify business opportunities and discover creative approaches to innovation. They will also get a big-picture look at the main areas of business, such as marketing, finance, and management, and see how they all connect within a faith-informed entrepreneurial mindset.

Campus Life: Experience life on our historic campus, explore the surrounding area, and engage in awesome activities throughout the week. This immersive program allows students to connect with faculty and peers, giving them a taste of life at UMHB.

Guaranteed Admission: Students accepted into the Sader Scholars program will receive guaranteed automatic admission to UMHB upon successful completion of the program, ensuring a seamless transition from high school to college.*

Cost: $1,300 – includes housing, tuition, meals, all activities and UMHB swag

To Apply:

We invite students before or after their senior year of high school with exceptional academic achievements to apply to the Sader Scholars program. Students must be at least 16 years old to apply.

Requirements:

  • Completed Sader Scholars application
  • Current high school transcript on file
  • A brief personal statement or essay
  • $500 deposit (applied to the total program fee)
  • Interview (virtual) with Sader Scholars’ admissions committee

  • Priority Applications Deadline: March 12, 2026.
  • Applications Deadline: April 16, 2026
  • Decisions Announced: May 1, 2026
  • Deposit Due: May 14, 2026
  • Final Enrollment Payment Due: June 1, 2026
  • All Registration Paperwork/Requirements Due: July 1, 2026
