On Sept. 30, 2025, the McLane School of Business and the Accounting Student Association put together the Fashion Show for Professionals in McLane Great Hall, showcasing to students how to professionally dress and prepare for interviews and careers.
“Every business is different, once you get into the business world, just look around and see what others are wearing and try to match that style,” Vicky Johnson, accounting professor, said.
It is important for a student to dress appropriately and professionally, and to know where to buy professional clothing. Rather than a lecture or slideshow presentation to teach students this information, they gathered students and faculty to bring a more unique, interactive display of fashion. A group of 24 models, comprising students and faculty, collaborated on a script detailing their attire for the evening and provided information on where students could obtain the clothes.
“This is why students come to a university, for events like this. I don’t want them to just sit in a classroom to learn, I want them to get up and get moving,” Johnson said.
The McLane School of Business hosts events for both business majors and students of all majors, such as the Stock Market Game, to teach students about investing.
