Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost, and what is included?
Answer: The cost per term is $1,230. This includes two classes and all materials. There are no hidden charges or extra fees.
How many terms are there per year and how many classes can I take per term?
Answer: There are six terms per year. Each term is seven weeks long, and you can take two classes per term. The program is designed to balance family, work, and school for working adults. If you need a break or have a busy season, you can skip a term and pick up when the next one begins.
How long does it typically take to complete the Organizational Leadership degree?
Answer: Most full-time students can finish the program in about two years. Most paraprofessional students have earned credits from other institutions, and we work to transfer as many of their classes as possible. Additionally, students with no transfer credits can graduate in less than four years.
What if I do not have any previous college credits, am I still eligible to enroll?
Answer: Yes! As a full-time paraprofessional, your experience will count toward the required minimum of twelve transferable credits.
Are there scheduled class times or lectures that I must attend?
Answer: No. All the classes are asynchronous.
Besides no scheduled class times, what are some of the biggest differences between on-campus classes and online?
Answer: There are no “traditional” tests typical of on-campus classes. The program emphasizes subject mastery through assessments, projects, and papers. You know the assessments from the start and have three attempts to pass each one, along with a pacing guide to help you succeed.
What type of degree am I earning?
Answer: A bachelor’s of applied learning degree. Unlike other institutions, you receive a degree from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor without any “online” moniker. Most graduates celebrate on the stadium stage with their entire class during commencement!
Transfer Credit Friendly
- Send your transcripts (they can be unofficial copies); we will match as many transferable courses as possible.
- You will receive your preliminary transfer credit evaluation in three business days.
- If you do not have any previous college credits and are a currently employed paraprofessional, your experience will account for the minimum 12 transferable credits hour requirement.
