New Cru Orientation Schedule
Schedule for January 2026
- 8:30 am – Check-in on King Street in front of Bawcom Student Union building
- 9:00 am – Welcome in McLane Great Hall (3rd floor of Bawcom Student Union building)
- Representatives from academic units and campus resource offices will share important information about academic programs, advising, student life, the business side of being a student (i.e., billing, financial aid, housing, etc.), and student success.
- Break-out sessions will be held for A) students using military benefits (required session), B) students who would like to tour campus, or C) students who want to visit the Campus Store or need to visit Campus Police for Cru Cards (official UMHB student ID) or Parking Decals.
- Advising appointments will be held between 12:00pm and 4:00pm (specific time/location will be provided at check-in).
- The detailed schedule will be announced during the Welcome.
Summer 2026 New Cru Orientation Schedule Overview
As a UMHB student, New Cru Orientation will be one of the most helpful steps in your time and journey at the University. The orientation schedule is designed not only to provide opportunities to have questions answered, but also to offer a fun and engaging experience for each student's first day as a member of the Cru.
Please see below for an overview of the schedule. Detailed schedules for each student will be received at check-in.
NOTE: Advising appointments can occur anytime between 10:45am and 2:15pm. Therefore, students and families should plan to be in attendance until 3:00pm. If unable to participate in the full day of orientation programming, from 8:30am to 3:00pm, please email newcru@umhb.edu to request a change to attend on a different orientation date; include student name, student UMHB ID # (if known), current session date, and date of session desiring to attend.
