Dr. Ken Smith was appointed Dean of the McLane College of Business in August, 2015. From 2004 to 2015, Dr. Smith served as President of his alma mater, Geneva College, in Beaver Falls, PA. Prior to his presidency, Dr. Smith was an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and chair of the Strategy and Human Resources Department at the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. While pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Smith served as the Director of the University of Maryland's Small Business Development Center. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Smith was an international management consultant with the University of Maryland's International Development Management Center; he has worked in numerous countries including Costa Rica, Egypt, Haiti, Jordan, Thailand, Trinidad, and Morocco.
Dr. Smith and his wife, Becky, attend Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Temple. They have six grown children and eight grandchildren.
