Dr. Kerry-Ann Zamore is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Psychology, M.S in Social Work from the University of Southern California, and Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has 20 years of field experience in social work and education working with diverse populations from Germany to Alaska. She has served in many facets of social work including Child Protective Services, Elderly Care, Psychiatric Social Work, Municipality and Police Social Work, and Court Systems as a Guardian ad litem and CASA supervisor. She also worked in the nonprofit sector with specializations in domestic violence and sexual assault as well as substance abuse recovery. Dr. Zamore is a skilled and energetic diversity facilitator through the Casey Foundation and People’s Institute. She is also a certified life coach. Dr. Zamore uses her expertise, knowledge, and experiences to create spaces in the arts for conversations about race, gender, and social inequities in communities using the arts. She has written over 30 original stage plays, highlighting social and personal issues in families and communities, an award-winning feature film “Shattered Pieces, and several award-winning short films.
Dr. Zamore is a sought-after speaker on Domestic Violence Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention and Education. She has spoken at numerous conferences including The Light of Hope Conference, Alaska, Every Victim Every Time Conference, College Station, TX, Conference on Crimes Against Women Dallas, TX, The National Association of Social Workers Conference, Galveston TX, and Bridging The Gap Domestic Violence Conference Killeen TX, Ft Hood Military Installation TX.
She has also served on numerous public boards and commissions including the Regional Representative Social Workers for the Western Regional, The National Chair of Social Work Elections Committee, CASA Board Member, The Regional Board Member of Boys and Girls Club, and the Arts Commission Member for the City of Harker Heights.
Dr. Zamore also believes in philanthropic giving and civic engagement; Kerry-Ann currently serves as the Waco Chapter President of Jack and Jill of America Inc, Waco Chapter Member of Links Inc. a Phi Alpha Honor Society Alum, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
