Emma Wayt
2021-2022 Student Body President
Emma Wayt is a Junior Health Science major from White Oak, Texas. She has served in the Student Government since her freshman year of college and previously served as the Class of 2023 chaplin (‘19/’20) and the Director of Spiritual Life (‘20/’21) . Emma’s hope is to foster Christ’s love and acceptance in this community. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:21 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Emma’s platform is the promotion and education of Mental wellness on campus. Her goal is to not only create a happier place but a healthier one.

Olan Vining III
Student Body Vice President
Olan Vining III is a senior from New Orleans, Louisiana who has grown up in San Antonio, Texas for most of his life. Olan is pursuing a degree in Exercise Physiology with a Minor in Business Administration in hopes of pursuing a career in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Olan has participated in Crusader Athletics as a member of the football program from 2017-2019. In addition, Olan is the president of the Association of Black Students and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organizations. Olan applies his experiences from being a part of a national championship team in 2018 to contribute towards his skillset of servant leadership and interpersonal qualities within the organization.

Yanelle Licona
Speaker of the Senate
Yanelle Licona, is a sophomore Political Science major from Pflugerville, TX. She has previously served as the Freshman class senator as well as the Director of Finance on the Executive Cabinet, in both of these positions she has strived to be the best possible representative of our students and make sure their voices are heard. In her position as the Speaker of the Senate she hopes to inspire her fellow representatives as well as our students to get involved and make the changes they wish to see happen, not only at our university but in our community.

Lauren Lents
Director of Public Relations
Lauren Lents is a Junior from Keller, Texas. She will serve as the Director of Public Relations for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is pursuing a degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations as well as minoring in Marketing. She is a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and involved in various extracurriculars around campus. Through her role as Director of Public Relations, she will achieve community, clarity, and connectedness among her peers through both on and off-campus activities. She has participated in all aspects of the college experience through her journey as a transfer student of UMHB.

Neisha Hickman
Director of Finance
Neisha Hickman is a junior Accounting and Finance major from Terrell, Texas. This is her third semester to serve in Student Government. She previously served as the Junior Class Senator for the Fall 2020 semester and the Director of Organizations spring of 2021. She is also the Vice President of the Pre- Law and Political Science Society and the Treasurer of ASTRA. As Director of Finance, she will work to develop policies to better manage, organize, and utilize the SGAs funds. She is delighted to further serve her UMHB community this year!

Sirena Daniel
Director of Organizations
Sirena Daniel is a senior in the Pre-Physician Assistant Program from Killeen, Texas. She believes that she is called to serve God by caring for and helping others, and what better way to do that than through medicine? This will be her first year serving in the Student Government Association at UMHB and she is looking forward to helping build a more inclusive community on campus. As the Director of Organizations, she will work with the Director of Student Organizations to charter new organizations and develop new policies and guidelines that will promote unity and improve leadership. She is excited to get to know everyone and to further serve the UMHB community!
