Registration

Initial Deposit

An initial deposit is required for each private lesson subscription and each group class enrollment.

• The deposit reserves the student's place in a lesson or class.
• The deposit will be applied toward tuition.
• Deposits are non-refundable
• Enrollment is not considered complete until the deposit has been paid.

Payment Options

The UMHB Arts Academy offers flexible payment options designed to make high-quality arts education accessible for families.

Accepted payment methods include:

• ACH (bank transfer)
• Credit cards
• Debit cards

Private Lessons

Private lessons are offered year-round and operate on a monthly subscription model.

• Tuition is billed monthly and continue year-round except during major holidays and UMHB closures.
• Tuition is billed monthly based on the number of scheduled lessons.
• Charges for the upcoming month are posted on the 25th of the previous month.
• Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.

Group Classes

Group classes are offered in designated sessions throughout the year.

• A deposit is required at enrollment to reserve a student's spot.
• The deposit is applied toward tuition.
• The remaining tuition balance is due on or before the student's first class meeting unless alternate arrangements have been approved.
• Students are expected to enroll in and commit to the full session of any group class for which they register.

Important Payment Information

Returned or Declined Payments

If a payment method is declined or an ACH payment is returned:

• A $25 returned payment fee will be added to the account.
• Participation may be suspended until the account is brought current.

Outstanding Balances

Students with outstanding balances may be denied enrollment in future lessons, classes, camps, ensembles, performances, and other Arts Academy programs until the account is paid in full.

Private Lesson Tuition

Tuition is billed monthly based on the number of scheduled lessons. Months with five lessons are billed for five lessons; months with four lessons are billed for four lessons.

Student Teacher Lessons

Instruction provided by a current UMHB Music Education or Performance major.

• 30-Minute Lessons: $110/month ($27.50 per lesson)
• 45-Minute Lessons: $165/month ($41.25 per lesson)
• 60-Minute Lessons: $220/month ($55.00 per lesson)

Teacher Lessons

Instruction provided by highly qualified instructors with advanced degrees and/or extensive professional experience.

• 30-Minute Lessons: $116/month ($29.00 per lesson)
• 45-Minute Lessons: $174/month ($43.50 per lesson)
• 60-Minute Lessons: $232/month ($58.00 per lesson)

Group Class Tuition

Group class tuition varies depending on class length, materials, and instructional needs.

Typical pricing includes:

• Standard Group Classes (approximately 60 minutes): $299 per 14 week session ($21.88 per class)
• Extended Group Classes (approximately 90 minutes): $399 per 14 week session ($28.50 per class)
• Choir & Ensembles: $150 per session

Current tuition and fees for all classes are displayed during registration.

Additional Programs & Special Offerings

The Arts Academy periodically offers camps, workshops, masterclasses, special events, and other enrichment opportunities.

Tuition and fees for these programs vary and will be listed on the registration page for each offering.

Discounts & Savings

Household Discount

After paying full tuition for the first enrolled class, additional eligible classes for members of the same household receive a 5% discount.

• The first class is charged at full tuition.
• Additional eligible classes receive a 5% discount.
• Choir programs are excluded from the household discount due to their already reduced tuition rate.
• Certain camps, workshops, and special events may also be excluded.
