UMHB Band Festival
Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Hosted at the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center
Open to all bands — beginning through high school
Join us for a unique and supportive performance experience at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Concert Band Festival. Each participating ensemble will receive a 30-minute performance slot and a professional audio recording of their performance.
Directors may choose between two festival tracks designed to meet the needs of bands at various stages of development:
Purple Track – $200
Non-Competitive
Ideal for developing ensembles, the Purple Track offers a welcoming environment focused on growth and encouragement. Bands will receive constructive feedback from three expert adjudicators, highlighting progress and building fundamental performance skills. Groups may perform three selections of their choice from any source. Casual attire is welcome—concert dress is not required.
Gold Track – $300
Competitive
Designed for more advanced groups, the Gold Track offers a high-level adjudication experience. Ensembles will be evaluated by three expert adjudicators based on age-appropriate standards of refinement and mastery. Bands in this track are eligible for Best in Class and Best in Festival awards. Directors may select three pieces from any source. While concert attire is recommended, it is not required.
