Alumni Board President

Rose graduated from UMHB in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education. Her favorite tradition is the Easter Pageant and its reminder of what our Savior did for us. Rose works as a first-grade teacher. She is married to Tony, class of 2002, and they have one dog, Buddy.

Marcus Batts '88

Marcus Batts graduated from UMHB in 1988 with a degree in Education. His favorite tradition is football. Marcus is retired. He is married to Penny ‘80 and has two children, Marcel and Melanie.

Travis Bice '10

Travis graduated from UMHB in 2012 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He currently lives in Tomball.

Dean Butenschoen '09

Dean Butenschoen graduated from UMHB in 2009 with a degree in Education. His favorite tradition is Easter Pageant. Dean works as a Residential Appraiser. He is married to Jenn ‘08 and has two children, Adalee and Joslynn.

Bobby graduated from UMHB in 1976 with a degree in Church Music. He currently lives in Belton.

Eduardo Lara graduated from UMHB in 1991 with a degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. His favorite tradition is Charter Day. Eduardo works as a Director of Clinic Operations. He is married to Elizabeth ‘93, and they have two sons.

Christel Lindberg-Phelps '01

Christel Lindberg-Phelps graduated from UMHB in 2001 with a degree in Mathematics. Her favorite tradition is Play Day. Christel is a former Math Instructor. She is married to Eric, and they have two children, one of whom is a current UMHB student.

Stephen graduated from UMHB in 2006 with a degree in Exercise Sport Science. His favorite UMHB traditions were Welcome Week, Stunt Night, Play Day, and UMHB Football. Stephen works in sales. He is married to Amanda, and they have one child.

Vicki McKay '71

Vicki McKay graduated from UMHB in 1971 with a degree in Home Economics. Her favorite tradition is Charter Day. Vicki is a retired teacher. She has two children, Laura and Blair.

Dr. Sheila Ransburg ’98, M.Ed. ’17, Ed.D. ‘21

Sheila graduated from UMHB in 1998 with a degree in Social Work, a Master's in Education in 2017, and a Doctorate in Education in 2021. Her favorite UMHB tradition was the Leadership Luncheons. Sheila works as a Coordinator of Assessment and Data Management. She is married to Leon Shepard.

Velva Riddle '64

Velva graduated from UMHB in 1964 with a degree in Business Education. Her favorite UMHB tradition is Charter Celebration. Velva lives in Gatesville.

Corbin Rouse '12

Corbin Rouse graduated from UMHB in 2012 with a degree in Speech Communication. Her favorite tradition is tied with Miss MHB, Welcome Week, and UMHB Athletics. Corbin works Preschool PE Teacher. She is married to John and has two children, Raylee Jo and Darbi Jae.

Garrett Smith graduated from UMHB in 2022 with a degree in History and in 2023 with a Master’s degree in Education Administration. Currently, he is enrolled in the UMHB Doctor of Education Program while serving as a College of Education graduate recruiter.
