UMHB Crowns 29th Mr. Crusader Knight

: BELTON, Texas – Kyle Parsons, who represented the University Ambassadors, was dubbed as the 29th Mr. Crusader Knight at this year’s annual event Feb. 27 in the W.W. Walton Chapel. As the winner, Kyle will represent UMHB for the 2022-2022 school year. The 21-year-old is a junior physical education major from Temple and the son of Pat and Pam Parsons. The Crusader Knights tradition, which began in 1993, features male contestants from various campus organizations, residence halls, and classes who showcase their skills in hopes of being dubbed Mr. Crusader Knight by UMHB President Randy O’Rear. Contestants were judged on three separate elements: interview, video, and spotlight. First through fourth runners-up were Evrhett White, representing Search Cru; Jackson Leedy, representing First Year Collective; Seth Brennan, representing Delta Psi Theta; and Kellen Newton, representing Independence Village. Noah Sprinkle, representing Cru Films, received a special award for Best Interview. Christopher Johnson, representing McLane Hall, took home the prize for Best Spotlight, and Jacob Dellinger, representing Cru for Life, won Best Video. Dellinger’s fellow contestants also voted him to receive the Timothy Award for most Christlike behavior. This year’s Crusader Knights director was Spencer Gros, a junior computer science major from Helotes. His assistant directors were junior film studies major Matt Cozart of Waco, junior film studies major Garrett Snyder of Princeton, and senior marketing major Kinsey Chenault of Houston. This year’s other contestants were Josh Gonzalez, representing the Baptist Student Ministry; Biscuit Yardley, representing Beall Hall; Michael Alvarado, representing Burt Hall; Justin Villalobos, representing Campus Activities Board; Jared Poe, representing College View; Alexander Fehn, representing Gettys Hall; Latrell Bowen, representing Lord Hall; and Mark Gonzalez, representing Remschel Hall.
