Summer Housing
Housing Incentive Program
The summer incentive program will allow undergraduate residents who enroll in and complete six (6) or more hours during the summer to live rent-free in summer housing. The housing for an undergraduate resident participating in this program is considered “paid” for all three sessions if the resident has enrolled in and completed 6 hours or more during the summer. The undergraduate resident can move into their summer housing assignment at the beginning of the May term and remain there through the end of Summer II. At the beginning of the Summer II term, Apartment residents assigned to the apartments for Fall 2024 may be asked to transition to their fall apartment assignment.
Information for Summer 2024 Residents
Instead of a mandatory summer housing meeting, a training course has been developed with the Summer Housing materials. All students requesting a summer housing assignment must complete the Summer Housing Information course. The course will open to students on March 1st. Students who complete an application or express interest in summer housing should contact Chris Green at cgreen@umhb.edu to receive an invitation to the training material on MyCourses. Each student must review the PowerPoint and answer the quiz questions regarding summer housing. Students must score higher than 90% before they are assigned for the summer terms.
The Summer Housing Application will open on March 18th Summer Housing Priority Assignment Application Deadline is Monday, April 1st. After this date, applications will still be accepted, but summer housing assignments will be based on apartment availability, not roommate preference.
